Forced Perspective (2nd and 3rd year Photography students)
Forced perspective is a technique that employs optical illusion
to make an object appear farther away, closer, larger or smaller than it
actually is. It is used primarily in photography, filmmaking and architecture.
It manipulates human visual perception through the use of scaled objects and
the correlation between them and the vantage point of the spectator or camera.
When it comes to
inspiration then there is no limitation on resources. If you know how to shoot a photo then you can also change something fairly simple to something creative or
abstract or otherwise more artistic. You don’t need any special skills for taking such shots.
It all depends on the environment, a little planning and perfect timing.
EXAMPLES
Assignment - Begin by planning some shots on paper - flesh it out. In the end, you are expected to have a small collection of photos that show the technique of forced perspective.
(take a minimum of 30 shots - submit at least 5 to your blog under the title
