The Rule Of Thirds (1st and 2nd Year Photography students)
Rule of
Thirds Assignment
To apply the rule of thirds to your photograph, break
an image down into thirds (both horizontally and vertically) so that you have 9
parts. Place points of interest in the intersections or along the lines to
create a more balanced and visually interesting photo. Studies have shown that
people’s eyes usually go to one of the intersection points rather than to the
center of the shot. When the rule of thirds is applied, we can make the way
people naturally view images work for us rather than against us.
Assignment:

placement. Refer to the “How to Use”
sheet attached.

doing one with two people to up the challenge

focus and crisp (unless intentionally blurring backgrounds for effect). And don’t forget to Get creative!
